• Poha's primary goal is to support women's education in Afghanistan by developing accessible and relevant online resources. Education is an essential human right and vital to enabling participation in social, academic, economic and political life. Our digital courses and resources aim to empower women by enhancing their digital and vocational skills, enabling them to bypass barriers to participation, particularly in the educational and economic spheres. Furthermore, it aims to develop their self-confidence and security in managing their own lives.

Available courses

This introductory course on web development will guide you step by step through the fundamentals of building a website from scratch. You’ll begin by learning the building blocks of the web—understanding how HTML (HyperText Markup Language) structures content and how CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) controls its visual presentation. By blending clear explanations with hands-on exercises, the course will ensure you feel comfortable writing basic HTML tags (paragraphs, lists, links, images, forms, etc.) and applying CSS rules (colors, fonts, spacing, layouts) to transform plain text into a polished, readable page.

This course will introduce the study of living things, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The course will end with introductory genetics and evolution.

Cosmology is the study of the Universe, its formation and evolution from the beginning of time to present day. 

This course is meant to provide a foundation in Cosmology assuming no prior knowledge of the subject. It assumes some knowledge of physics and mathematics including differential equations and integration.

If you are intered in learning about the Universe on some of the biggest scales possible, this is the course for you!

This course highlights ten influential women - some widely recognised, others less well known - whose stories reveal the enduring power and resilience of women across the world.

Through exploring the lives of these women, students will gain a deeper understanding of the many ways women have influenced global history and the continued importance of recognising and building on their legacies.
